A captivating, insightful auto-biographical body of literature. well spoken and written to afford the reader with
familiar and comfortable read. Without boring the reader with the banalities of rules and regulations, the writer
paves the path to understanding the delicate, yet intricate workings of serving within the Organisation.

The writer provides brilliant recount of events, and uses narration styles exceptionally well. Effortlessly
shifting voice and viewpoints from linear to non-linear, without allowing the reader's imagination to miss
a beat and wander. A gripping body of working combining events, perception, empathy, with ethics and the
dilemmas of human nature.

The hint of mystery regarding certain characters are being used brilliantly and fully, without specific
revelation, leaves the reader with both questions and a sense of unveiling at the same time.

The tales in themselves are of such a relatable nature of anyone who has or still serves within Law
Enforcement. The tragedies, joys, frustration, and amusement are all part of the fabric of experiences
in this line of duty. I especially recognised the use of self-reflection after each tale, giving the reader
a chance to reflect themselves.

The book provides deep insight into the writer's personality, as a normal, rational human being, being
called to serve and protect the community. The transition from being a public servant through different
and challenging societal eras, and the dedication of adapting through these changes, speaks volumes of
the hardships that our predecessors and seniors had to endure.

Well done indeed!

REVIEWS

"What a privilege to read your maiden volume of your reminiscences as a passionate and committed member of the South African police official over a period of 30 years! Your wide spectrum of experiences is indeed a mind absorbing and eye opening revelation- the good, the bad, the ugly and the humorous of our human behaviour is described masterfully in both the typical local and upper class vernacular. This is a must read to truly appreciate "behind the scenes" scenarios in the police. Can't wait for volume two."
